Summer, 2005. Photo-Documentarian Intern; Inner-City Arts, Los Angeles, CA. Sponsored by the Getty Trust, served as photographer documenting program activities. (Fall Semester 2006) Semester abroad in Paris, France. Participated in Research Topics seminar and conducted project studying sociology of the neighborhood Les Halles through visual symbols captured in photography. • Conducted research on the history, collected and analyzed facts • Wrote research paper • Created portfolio of photographic work that represented research findings and conclusions. • While abroad, visited Ireland, Italy, Germany, Netherlands and Southern France.
(Summer 2006) Resided four weeks in Prague, Czech Republic, serving as intern under program sponsored by American University, Washington D.C. • While abroad, visited Austria.
(Summer 2003) Traveled to Costa Rica in conjunction with an ecological-tour involving volunteer work with locals of a remote island toward protecting sea turtles.
• Assisted with gathering and protection of turtle eggs; Learned about turtles ecosystem and procreation rituals • Additional travel in the country included stay with family in farming community providing exposure to local culture, customs and education/economical issues.

Volunteer experience

• Lead Organizer: Benefit Concert featuring five local bands held April 6th, 2007 at University of Redlands. Obtained sponsorships from campus groups to conduct this fundraising activity to benefit campaigns supporting Africa (AIDS epidemic, “Invisible Children,” poverty, etc.) and genocide in Darfur. • Team Participant: Relay for Life Cancer Walk. 24-hour vigil to raise money for Cancer research. Have participated five consecutive years. • Volunteer: Downtown Women’s Center. Served as volunteer in providing socialization and meals to mentally-disabled women seeking services in skid row center for homeless women. • Volunteer: Eco-Teach. Participated in Sea Turtle Rescue program in Costa Rica.
